MUSIC & ARTS

At The Welcome Table, music and the arts are central to our worship and community life.

We approach them with intentionality, simplicity, and authenticity, ensuring that every expression reflects who we are and invites others to connect more deeply with God and one another.

Music in Worship

Our music is thoughtfully chosen each week to align with the theme, scripture, and the flow of worship. Whether we aim to inspire joy, reflection, or a sense of peace, our songs are carefully selected to create the atmosphere we hope to foster. The Worship Minister works closely with those sharing reflections to ensure the music and message are fully integrated.

We love to introduce new songs in ways that feel accessible to everyone. Sometimes we’ll repeat a simple song several times during a gathering, encouraging everyone to join in as it becomes familiar. Other times, a new piece might be performed as a solo or duet before inviting the congregation to sing along in a future gathering.

Participation is always encouraged. If you’re interested in joining our worship team, we’d love to meet with you to explore how your gifts could enhance our worship experience. While the nature of how worship is put together requires a lot of flexibility, making regular practice times difficult, we’re always looking for musicians who can step in when needed, enhance one of our special gatherings (like Easter or Christmas Eve), or bring fresh energy and perspective to our team. We also welcome song suggestions and enjoy incorporating the music that resonates with our community.

Other Forms of Art

We embrace the arts as a powerful way to connect with God and each other, often incorporating poetry readings and visual art into our gatherings. Exercises like Visio Divina help us reflect on images with sacred intention, and seasonal themes often feature creative contributions from the community.

A recent example is our Advent theme, which focuses on quilts as a symbol of how God stitches our lives together from scraps into something beautiful. To bring this theme to life, members of our community created quilt squares displayed throughout the season, weaving their creativity into our shared worship space.

Share Your Gifts

We believe everyone has artistic gifts to offer, whether it’s music, poetry, painting, or another form of creative expression. If you feel called to share your talents, we’d love to hear from you and find ways to incorporate your art into the life of our community.
